6 Tips to Make Weight Training and Building Muscle More Fun
If you’re having trouble getting motivated for gaining weight through building muscle, maybe you’re not spending enough of the right kind of time on your weight training routine.

Bodybuilding and weight training is supposed to be fun. To that end, these tips can help you make sure your muscle building routine stays enjoyable and you don’t end up in a rut you can’t seem to break out of.

1. Set times for rest and reps for sets. You will get much more out of your weight training routine if you’re doing it effectively, and part of that is not resting for too long or short a time and doing the right number of reps in each set. Don’t just “wing it.” Have a routine, and follow it every time. While routine may seem a little boring, you’ll find that following a weight training routine gives you better results, and this makes gaining muscle weight much more enjoyable.

2. Get enough rest. Many times, people looking to build muscle and gain weight don’t get enough sleep. If you’re getting up early to work out, adding a workout to your routine every day, and feeling tired all the time, then you’re probably not getting enough rest. Your muscles need a chance to recuperate from your muscle building routine; pushing yourself too hard can make your weight training stale and harder than it needs to be.

3. Find a good gym. You may want to work out at home part of the time, but if you’re serious about gaining weight and building muscle, you need to find a good gym, work with a personal trainer, and show up at the gym regularly at the same time so you begin to make friends. One of the fun parts of bodybuilding is being part of something. Going to a great gym, where you can work out with other people looking to gain weight and build muscle and have someone to help you when you have problems, is a great way to keep bodybuilding fun.

4. Stay healthy. If you’re pushing yourself hard in your weight training routine, you need to be taking vitamins and supplements and taking care of your body. Your health is obviously a critical component of gaining weight and building muscle. Make sure you’re maintaining it to keep your weight training routine fun and get the best results.

5. Eat well. Some people, when they’re building muscle and particularly when they’re trying to lose fat to get the definition and cut look they want, don’t eat as well as they should. This is absolutely crucial. How are you going to do your best and have an enjoyable weight lifting routine if you’re not strong enough, because of a lack of nutrition? You will always perform better when you’re eating well.

6. Keep the right attitude. When weight training becomes you against your muscles, and you’re fighting every second to get them to do what you want them to do, your weight lifting routine is off track. You want to keep a positive attitude. No one is making you do this; you’re doing it because you want to. Keep it positive.
